Brief Biography
The Hon. Justice Dr. Abou Bhakarr M. Binneh-Kamara, J. is a Justice of Sierra Leone’s Superior Court of Judicature and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He was called to the Bar in 2005 and served as Legal Research Officer at the Law Reform Commission (LRC) and was subsequently appointed a Magistrate in 2006. Between 2007 and 2017, he served as Senior Magistrate and Principal Magistrate in the Judiciary, and as Lecturer in Law, Psychology, Communications Media and Management (at under and post-graduate) at Fourah Bay College, Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) and Njala University. He was made Head of the Department of Law in the then Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, at Fourah Bay College in 2016 and became a Judge of the High Court of Justice in 2017. He has served as a resource person for Sierra Leone’s Independent Media Commission (IMC), Right to Access Information Commission (RIAC), National Commission for Democracy (NCD), PANOS West Africa, and the ECOWAS Court of Justice etc. He has as well delivered many academic papers at numerous international conferences in England, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Liberia.
